The child mortality assessment report of the United Nations Inter-agency Group released on Tuesday gave the example of five countries, India, Nepal, Senegal, Ghana and Burundi, which declined child mortality. Along with this, the UN also mentioned the strategies, due to which child mortality could be declined.

The report said that these countries have shown that “with political will, evidence-based strategies and continuous investment, countries facing challenges can also bring a significant decline in mortality. The whole world can learn from it and move towards ending child mortality. The report says that India has benefited from health system investment.

“Through strategic investment in its health system, India has already saved millions of young life. Along with this, it has paved the way to ensure healthy life for millions of people.”

UN praised India fiercely

The report also revealed that since 2000, India has fallen by 70 percent in the mortality rate of children below 5 years and 61 percent decline in the mortality rate of newborns. All this has been possible due to increasing health coverage, developed human resources and human resources. This report gives the example of the world’s largest health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat, which gives an annual coverage of about 5,500 US dollars to every family every year.

The report said that despite different geographical, economic conditions and health systems structure, Nepal, Senegal, India, Ghana and Burundi have achieved a global and decline in their fields through strategic investment and evidence-based health interventions in the field of strong government, strategic investment and evidence-based health interventions.
