Remarrying a divorced person is quite common in Bollywood. Not only Shilpa Shetty, many other Bollywood actresses have also been arrested for being in love with a divorced man. She has also married her partner against the wishes of her family. One of them is veteran Bollywood artiste Supriya Pathak. Going against her mother, Supriya Pathak married actor Pankaj Kapoor, father of a child, in 1988. Sister Ratna Pathak Shah and mother Dina Pathak tried to convince ‘Hansa Ben’ a lot, but keeping everyone’s words aside, Supriya Pathak decided to marry the love of her life.

Mother became the villain of love story

Supriya Pathak’s mother and veteran Gujarati theater and film artiste Dina Pathak was strongly against her second marriage. Actually, he did not trust his future son-in-law Pankaj Kapoor that he would support his daughter throughout her life. Before Supriya, Pankaj Kapoor was married to actress Neelima Azim and they both had a son (Shahid Kapoor). Supriya’s mother Dina Pathak feared that Pankaj Kapoor might leave her daughter like his first wife. This is the reason why Supriya’s mother was against Pankaj Kapoor and her marriage. Sister Ratna Pathak Shah also tried hard to convince her but Supriya did not listen to anyone.

Supriya also had a second marriage

Like actor Pankaj Kapoor, this was Supriya Pathak’s second marriage. The actress had first married Pankaj at a very young age. However, this marriage did not last long and within a year the actress separated from her first husband. Ramleela fame actress was seen in Twinkle Khanna’s show Tweak India, where she talked a lot about her professional life as well as family. During the conversation, the actress had told in the show that her mother could not trust Pankaj Kapoor even till the last moment. Even at the time of marriage, she had tried hard to convince her daughter, but Supriya Pathak was so deeply in love with actor Pankaj Kapoor that she decided to keep everything aside and marry him.
