The Baloch Liberation Army in Pakistan has hijacked a train. At the same time, 100 people have been taken hostage. The attackers shot the driver, in which he is said to be injured. According to the report of Pakistani TV channels, some attackers opened fire on passenger train in southwest Pakistan, in which many people were reported injured.
This train was going from Jafar Express Quetta to Peshawar. The provincial government has instructed local authorities to take emergency steps. Emergency has been declared in Quetta’s civil hospital.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said in a statement, “There are reports of fierce firing between Pehro Kunri and Gadalar on the Jafar Express going from Quetta to Peshawar.”
Meanwhile, Railway Controller Muhammad Kashif said that there were about 500 passengers in this train with nine coaches.
According to the controller, “The train was stopped by armed people in tunnel number 8. Efforts are being made to contact passengers and employees.”
According to the government’s statement, Emergency has been declared in Sibi Hospital, while ambulances and security forces are going towards the scene. However, due to the rocky area, the authorities are facing difficulties in reaching the spot.
The statement further said, “The Railway Department has sent more trains to the spot for rescue work. The seriousness of the incident and the possibility of terrorist elements are being ascertained. The Government of Balochistan has ordered emergency measures and all institutions to be active.”
The officer has urged people not to remain calm and ignore rumors. According to Health Department spokesman Dr. Wasim Baig, Emergency has also been declared in Quetta’s Civil Hospital.
Beg said, “All advisors, doctors, pharmacists, staff nurses and paramedical staff have been called to the hospital.”
The Pakistan Railway had announced the restoration of train services between Quetta and Peshawar on October 1 after suspension of more than one and a half months.
In the last one year, terrorist attacks have been seen in Balochistan. In November 2024, at least 26 people were killed and 62 were injured in a suicide blast at Quetta railway station.
Last week, the Provincial Government had reviewed the law and order situation in Balochistan in view of the recent terrorist attacks and other violent incidents and made several decisions to deal with the situation.
