The members of the council have said to fix the accountability of organizers, accused and funding that promoted terrorist activities. In this attack on 22 April, 26 people were gunned down with bullets. The Security Council with 15 member countries reiterated in a press statement on Friday that terrorism is a threat to international peace and security in all its forms and expressions. Member countries have expressed deep sympathy and condolences with the families of the victims of this attack, India and the Nepal government. He has wished the injured to recover as soon as possible.
Any terrorist act is criminal
The Security Council has urged all member countries to fulfill fixed obligations in accordance with international laws and security council proposals. Also, all administrative agencies (relevant) have been emphasized on active cooperation. The council pointed out that any terrorist act is criminal and it can be justified, irrespective of any intention, anywhere.
The council said that all countries need to deal with the dangers that thrive for international peace and security from terrorist attacks. Also said that this action should be taken in line with United Nations Charter, International Laws, International Human Rights Laws, International Refugee Laws, and Humanitarian Laws.
Earlier, UN spokesperson Stephen Dujariq while answering a journalist’s question at New York Headquarters on Thursday said that General Secretary Antonio Gutrus condemned the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, in which a large number of common citizens were killed. General Secretary Gutrus noted that the attacks targeted by common citizens cannot be accepted under any circumstances.
He said that the UN chief has not been directly contacted with the two countries, but he is worried about the current situation and keeps a close watch on the developments. The spokesperson of the UN chief has appealed to India and Pakistan to exercise maximum restraint and ensure that the situation does not deteriorate further.
