Indo-pak ceasefire: United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Gutaras on Saturday welcomed the announcement of the immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson of the General Secretary, said that “We are keeping an eye, we welcome all efforts to reduce the struggle.”
US President Trump announced in a post on ‘Truth Social’, “After the whole night conversation in America’s mediation, I am happy to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to ‘immediate and complete ceasefire’.” Trump said that “Congratulations to both countries for using understanding and conscience. Thank you for focusing on the matter.”
Trump made this announcement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio Foreign Minister S.K. After a conversation with Jaishankar, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir. However, India has categorically denied this. India said that there was a mutual agreement between India and Pakistan, there was no role of any third country in it.
