US MP challenges Biden administration’s decision to investigate Adani Group companies

The US administration’s decision to investigate the activities of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and his companies has been challenged by an influential Republican MP. The MP says that there is a danger of harm to important coalition partners due to such selective actions.

Congressman Lance Gooden, a member of the House Judiciary, has written a strongly worded letter to US Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. In which he has sought answers from the Department of Justice on the selective prosecution against foreign entities and the possible damage such actions may cause to America’s global alliances and economic development, and has also asked the question whether it has any connection with George Soros. There is some relation.

What did the American MP write in his letter?

Gooden said in his letter dated January 7, ‘The Justice Department’s selective actions threaten to damage important alliances with key partners like India, one of America’s strongest allies in the Asia-Pacific region.’

Instead of pursuing weak jurisdictions and cases that have little to do with America’s interests, the Justice Department needs to focus on domestic issues and punishing bad guys here, rather than chasing rumors overseas. Needed.

The five-time Republican MP said that targeting such companies which invest millions of dollars in America and create thousands of jobs, will only harm America in the long term.

He said that when we abandon the real threats posed by violent crime, economic espionage and CCP influence and go after the people who contribute to our economic growth, these are the new investors hoping to invest in our country. Discourages investors.

He said, ‘An unpleasant and politically charged environment for investors will only hinder efforts to revive America’s industrial base and economic growth, and will undermine President Trump’s commitment to rebuild the economy by increasing investment.

‘The aim is to create obstacles for Trump’

Gooden said that given that these decisions are being taken at a time when the end of the Biden administration is near, it clearly shows that its only purpose is to create obstacles for President Trump.

He said that instead of spending taxpayers’ money on lengthy and perhaps politically motivated activities in foreign countries thousands of miles away, the department should collaborate with the incoming administration to better serve the American people.

In this letter written two weeks before Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President, Gooden said that it is your duty towards the public not to create further complications that could compromise America’s geopolitical superiority. He said that I am writing to inquire about the Justice Department’s recent selective actions in cases against foreign entities, which could put irreparable pressure on America’s global alliances.

In the letter, Gooden writes that as our country enters a new era under the leadership of President Trump, Americans hope that this will be a symbol of prosperity, growth, economic recovery and the revival of political freedom. A critical factor in our quest to revive our nation’s prosperity is the ability and freedom of potential investors to do business in the United States.

He said that while completely ignoring the public outcry about rising violent crimes at home, the Justice Department is launching new campaigns to target businesses for alleged injustices abroad.

There was no American involved in the case, then why…

Gooden writes that even if the allegations in the Adani case are proven true, they will still fail to make us the proper and final arbitrator in this matter. Gooden wrote, ‘These ‘bribes’ were allegedly given by Indian officials of an Indian company to Indian state government officials in India, with no substantial involvement of any American party.’

He further writes, ‘In contrast, according to an earlier Justice Department indictment, executives of Smartmatic, the American company responsible for running our elections, allegedly laundered money and paid bribes to foreign governments.

However, despite several efforts by my colleagues and me to address our concerns ahead of the elections, your department never provided us with information. Gooden asked why the Justice Department has not indicted a single American if the case involves significant collusion with the United States.

He asked whether any Americans were not involved in this alleged plan? Why has the Justice Department brought this case against Gautam Adani when the alleged criminal acts and the parties involved are in India? Do you want to implement justice in India?

Will the Department of Justice (DOJ) seek extradition of the Indian officials involved in this case? What is the DOJ’s plan if India refuses to comply with the extradition request and claims sole jurisdiction over the case? Is the DOJ or the Biden administration willing to turn this case into an international incident between the United States and an ally like India?
