US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha will visit India early next week and during this time he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The journey will be amidst increasing global trade disruption due to the fee dispute of the Trump administration. Vance’s office said on Wednesday that the US Vice President will travel to Italy and India from 18 to 24 April. Usha is the Vice President’s wife of Indian-American origin.
The Vance couple is also expected to bring their three children – Ivan, Vivek and Meerabel – to India. Apart from Delhi, the whole family will also go to Jaipur and Agra.

A few days after the mutual fee came into force this month, Trump announced a 90 -day ban on it for all countries except China. Sources said that US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz also planned to come to India early next week, but his journey has been postponed. He said that this journey of Vance will not be completely private and it will also include official elements.
It is being told that the US Vice President will hold talks with Prime Minister Modi on 21 April, which will discuss various aspects of Indo-US relations, including the issue of fees and the ongoing negotiations between the two sides for bilateral trade agreement.
DNI held separate meetings with Prime Minister Modi Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. The US President’s fee dispute has given air to the possibility of the global trade war. After negotiations between Modi and Trump at Washington DC in February, both sides announced that they would negotiate the first part of the bilateral trade agreement (BTA) by the autumn of 2025.
