KKR has appointed veteran Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane as its new captain for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The three-time IPL winning team has made all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer its vice-captain.
Rahane, the most senior Indian player in the KKR team, will now replace Shreyas Iyer, who led the franchise in IPL 2024 in Chennai. However, the franchise did not retain Iyer and now he will captain Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.
