One of his videos is going viral very fast on social media. In which he is seen delivering the ball beyond the boundary line in a beautiful style.
Rutherford scored runs at a strike rate of 205.26
The video going viral is of the 22nd match of BBL 2024-25, which was played between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder on January 3. In this match, after losing the toss and batting first, Perth Scorchers team managed to score 177 runs at the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.
While chasing the target of 178 runs set by the opposition team, Thunder did not have a very good start. For the team, David Warner (49) and Matthew Gilkes (43) made a partnership of 48 runs for the second wicket. But the fall of wickets started as soon as Gilkes was out, but here the way Rutherford batted after coming down the order. Everyone became happy seeing him.
Rutherford not only led the Thunder team to victory but also faced only 19 balls while batting at sixth position. Meanwhile, he managed to score 39 unbeaten runs at a strike rate of 205.26. During this, five fours and a beautiful six were seen from his bat.
The result was that at one time the Thunder team seemed to be losing the match. Thanks to Rutherford’s explosive batting, he achieved the target on the last ball.
Rutherford will shine for Gujarat in IPL 2025
Rutherford, who was a part of the KKR team till last year, has been included in its fleet by the Gujarat Titans team this time. Many franchises had their eyes on him during the auction. But the Titans surprised everyone and signed him for a huge sum of Rs 2.6 crores. Apart from batting, Rutherford is also adept at bowling.
