Bharat arun on Virat Kohli: Former Indian cricket team bowling coach Bharat Arun said on Tuesday that veteran Virat Kohli never liked the practice matches too much and he wanted to spend time in the net session instead. Arun, who was among the important members of the Indian coaching team during Kohli’s captaincy days, said that working with this legendary player is one of the best moments of his career.
Arun told ‘PTI’, “Indian and world Test cricket will miss him and his personality. I have spent some of my best moments under the captaincy of Virat Kohli as India’s bowling coach.” Arun said, “Kohli never liked the practice matches.”
He said, “Kohli believed that there is a lack of passion and passion like the main matches in the practice matches. He never enjoyed the practice matches. He wanted to spend more time in the net session and always used to choose the fastest wicket and ask bowlers or throdow experts to put a ball from a distance of 16 yards.”
Kohli has said goodbye to Test cricket on Monday. He scored 9230 runs in 123 Test matches with the help of 30 centuries. During this time his average was 46.85. He is India’s most successful Test captain with 40 wins in 68 matches. Arun said, “Kohli honored this format more than anything and this format will miss them.”
India’s champion batsman Virat Kohli retired from T20 International last year. Now he will only play one day cricket. When T20 cricket was in the news globally, he was at the forefront of saving the Test format. Kohli admitted that it was not easy to decide, which ended the speculation about his future in the long format of the game. The period of speculation began after a disappointing performance of Australia’s tour early in the year.
Kohli announced on his Instagram page, “I played for the game, with the people whom I have seen in my heart who have seen me playing during this game.” After making his debut in 2011, Kohli made India the world’s number one team in this format and won the historic series in Australia in 2018-19.
Last year, after playing an important role in India’s T20 World Cup win in the Caribbean country, he retired from T20 International, so that he will now play only in ODIs. He said, “For the first time in Test cricket, I wore ‘Bagi Blue’ 14 years ago. To be honest, I never thought what journey this format would take me. He took my exam, coined me and teach me a lesson that I will keep with me all my life.”
The last Test of this megastar was Australia tour which was quite disappointing in which he scored only one century. In this way, the end of his career was less than the 10,000 -run figure, which was considered a formality at one time. The right -handed batsman made his mark as the legend of this format with seven double centuries, which is the most for an Indian player. He is far ahead of great batsman Sunil Gavaskar (4), Sachin Tendulkar (6), Virender Sehwag (6) and Rahul Dravid (5).
