Shreyas iyer captain of Punjab kings statement after victory: The 31st match of IPL 2025 was played on Tuesday between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh. Where the Punjab team managed to win by 16 runs in the low scoring match. Captain Shreyas Iyer also looked very happy with this brilliant victory against the opposition team. After the match, he shared his heart’s talk during the award distribution ceremony and said, ‘It is difficult to convey this victory in words. I saw the ball turning a bit. After which I told Yaji (Yuzvendra Chahal) that you should control your breath as much as possible. We had to play attacking game in the match.
Iyer, while taking forward, said, ‘I am not able to keep my words properly. It is a little difficult to digest this victory. I faced only two balls during the batting. Meanwhile, one ball remained very low and the other jumped well. There was a variable bounce on the wicket. We scored and managed to win by 16 runs.
The Punjab captain said, ‘We took two wickets in two overs. Due to which we got Momentum, but two of his batsmen again took Momentum towards them. But when Yuji started turning the ball, our expectations and trust increased.
Talking about his strategy during the match, Iyer said, “I put my fielders in an attack on the batsmen of the opposition team, so that he would try to put some different shots and it was from here that the entire attitude of the match changed.”
