New Delhi:
179 out of 181 people have died in the South Korea plane crash. Two flight attendants survived. The Jeju Air airline plane had taken off from Bangkok and was attempting to land at Muan International Airport, 290 kilometers south of Seoul. A massive rescue operation was launched after the accident and emergency teams searched the debris for hours.
The survivors have been identified as 32-year-old Lee and 25-year-old Kwon. They were pulled out from the rear of the burnt plane. Both are in shock since the incident.
Lee is repeating the question again and again
According to a report by the Korean Times, doctors at Mokpo Korean Hospital have talked to Lee. Lee was stationed at the rear of the plane to assist passengers during landing. He repeatedly asked after the accident, “What happened?” and “Why am I here?”
Hospital staff reported that Lee appeared stunned and was unable to explain her injuries, indicating severe shock.
“It seems she was in a nervous state, possibly worried about the safety of the plane and the passengers,” a hospital official was quoted as saying by the Korean Times. Lee suffered injuries to his left shoulder and head but is conscious. He was later transferred to Seoul Hospital at the request of his family.
don’t remember anything about the accident
The other survivor, Kwon, is being treated at Mokpo Central Hospital. Like Lee, he too does not remember anything about the accident. He has a head injury, a broken ankle and stomach pain.
Doctors are assessing his injuries. A hospital representative said, “His life is not in danger, but the shock and injuries are serious.”
Accident due to landing gear malfunction!
Initial investigation suggests that the accident occurred due to landing gear failure. The plane skidded off the runway and crashed into a concrete fence before bursting into flames. The bodies of 179 dead people have been recovered from the debris, while only two flight attendants survived.
Investigators have recovered the black box of the plane. Aviation experts have pointed to possible maintenance failures or human error, but officials have remained tight-lipped until detailed analysis of the black box data.
period of political turmoil
This accident occurred during a period of unprecedented political turmoil in South Korea. Yoon Suk Yeol is being investigated for his controversial announcement of imposing martial law earlier this month. Yun, who was removed from presidential duties by Parliament, faces criminal charges of rebellion, which could carry life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
There are demands for his arrest after his repeated refusal to cooperate with investigators.
