In Delhi-NCR, Wednesday was going to be disturbed by the heat, but by the evening, the weather took such a turn that people were surprised. After the scorching heat of the day, after eight o’clock in the night, the sudden thunderstorm, torrential rains and the rain of hail shook the entire area.
Thunderstorms at a speed of 79 kmph
The wind speed reached 79 km per hour in Safdarjung area of Delhi. It was not a common wind, but a kind of tornado. Trees, electric poles, walls and large signboards could not stand in front of this high speed and collapsed.
Effect on power supply
Due to strong thunderstorms and falling polls, electricity failed in Delhi, Noida and other NCR areas. Many residential areas had dark shadow for hours.
Relief from heat, damage too heavy
While the rain and hail gave relief to the people on the one hand, on the other hand this season brought this destruction for many people. Vehicles were damaged, waterlogging occurred on the roads and public property also suffered heavy damage.
