Negotiations have started between the US and Iran about a new nuclear deal. In the event of a failure of negotiations, the US President has placed military plans as a backup to pressurize Iran. Washington has removed the second aircraft carrier in the region.
What does America want?
It seems that Vistoff is turning away from his point. Earlier, he had said that if Iran can only enhance its uranium (nuclear enrich) at the low level required for energy production, then America will be satisfied.
Witchoff said in a statement on Tuesday, “Any final agreement should be prepared for peace, stability and prosperity in the middle East – which means that Iran will have to stop and end its nuclear enhancement and handicap program .. According to that deal, Iran had to stop its uranium enrichment activities and in return it was relieved from American sanctions. But Trump had pulled out of such a deal with Iran during his first President’s tenure in 2018. Trump rejected the deal and resorted to the policy of “maximum pressure” which tightened the economic sanctions.
Trump increasing pressure?
Washington has sent a second aircraft vessel to the region before the next round of the US-Iran talks that started four days ago. The USS Carl Vinson and its strike group have moved from Arabian Sea towards the Persian Gulf. The operation allegedly started late Monday night when American jets attacked parts of Yemen -controlled Yemen -controlled Yemen -backed terrorists.
