India’s first television advertisement
India’s first television advertisement aired on 1st January 1976. This was a period of Doordarshan and thus advertisements started on TV. This advertisement is said to be of Gwalior Shoots. After this advertisement, the whole world of advertisements in India changed. Not only this, when the TV became colorful in 1982, the first color advertisement at that time was of Bombay Dyeing.

Establishment and development of Doordarshan
Doordarshan was founded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in 15 September 1959. Agricultural philosophy has been the longest running program of Doordarshan which started on 26 January 1967. In 1982, Doordarshan became the National Broadcaster of India. Color television began in India in 1982. Not only this, the broadcast was made colorful during the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi. In this way, Doordarshan continued to grow with time.
