But, in a recent interview, Emraan Hashmi, known for playing a serious role in films like Murder and Jannat, said that his on-screen personality became a hindrance in his love life and marriage. Emraan Hashmi revealed that his in -laws were not ready to marry his girlfriend Parveen.
Emraan Hashmi likes to keep his personal life away from the glare of the media. He recently spoke openly about his love story. He interacted with Ranveer Allabia in his podcast show. He revealed that his relationship with his wife Parveen Shahani began when he started shooting for his first film. He has been with him since then and decided to get married after three years.
He said, “I started dating Parveen from the same day, the day I started shooting for my film. We got married in 2006 after three years. It was very difficult for his family to understand, who had created this strange image. He wondered if he was right for our daughter.”
By 2006, Emraan’s on-screen personality and ‘serial kisser’ were widely known inside and outside the industry. As a result, his family, who was not part of the showbiz, was in doubt about his relationship. However, the actor tried to convince them by explaining the difference between his on-screen roles and off-screen personality. Recalling the time, he said, “There was no acceptance, there was a protest in the beginning, but when I celebrated a little, the family had to go to convince that he is not me. Just trust me that he is my character, then things became a little easier from there and I held his hand.”
