Maheesh Theekshana Hat Trick Against New Zealand: Sri Lankan spinner Mahish Tikshina has created history. He has become the first bowler from Sri Lanka to take a hat-trick on New Zealand soil. Not only this, he has also become the seventh bowler of Sri Lanka to take a hat-trick in ODI format. Before him, this special achievement was recorded in the names of Chaminda Vaas, Lasith Malinga, Dilshan Madushanka, Thisara Perera, Farvez Maharoof and Wanindu Hasaranga.

Tikshina, who brought the 35th over of the innings for Sri Lanka, trapped the opposition captain Mitchell Santner in his net on the fifth ball. After that, on the very next ball, he also forced Nathan Smith to go to the pavilion. Both the bowlers were caught near the boundary line in an attempt to hit a big shot.
After these two big successes, he got his third success on the first ball of the 37th over. The opposition team’s lower order fast bowler Matt Henry tried to hit a six against him. But he could not reach the ball beyond the boundary line. As a result, he had to go to the pavilion after being caught by Waneedu Fernando.
