Alex Hales currently participates in many leagues around the world. He made his debut in the shortest format of cricket in 2009. Since then he has played 478 matches here. During this period, 13047 runs have been scored from his bat in 474 innings at an average of 29.65. He has six centuries and 82 half-centuries to his name in the T20 format.
Chris Gayle has the biggest record in his name
The special record of scoring most runs in T20 format is held in the name of former great batsman of West Indies cricket team, Chris Gayle. The Caribbean batsman participated in 463 T20 matches between 2005 and 2022. Meanwhile, he managed to score 14562 runs in 455 innings at an average of 36.22. During this period, 22 centuries and 88 half-centuries were seen from his bat.
After Chris Gayle, the name of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik comes in second place. 42-year-old Malik has scored 13492 runs in 510 innings of 551 matches at an average of 36.26. Malik has 83 half-centuries in his name.
After these two greats, the third name in the top 3 is that of former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard. Pollard has participated in 687 T20 matches between 2006 and 2024. Meanwhile, he managed to score 13355 runs in 611 innings at an average of 31.20.
Kohli 114 runs away from the figure of 13000
After Kieron Pollard, Hales’ name now comes in fourth place. Virat Kohli is at fifth position in terms of scoring most runs in T20. However, Kohli is currently 114 runs away from the figure of 13000. He has participated in 399 T20 matches. Meanwhile, he has managed to score 12886 runs in 382 innings at a strike rate of 41.43.
