Nominations for Oscar 2025 are being made on Thursday. India is going to be represented once again at the Oscars 2025. Because the film Anuja produced by Guneet Monga and Priyanka Chopra has received a nomination in the category of Best Live Action Short Film. Kiran Rao’s film Lapata Ladies was also sent for Oscar 2025, although the film could not reach the nomination.

Guneet Monga is currently in America and before the nomination of Oscar 2025, she has also shared a picture with Anuja’s team on social media. Along with this picture, he wrote in the caption, ‘With team Anuja a few hours before the Oscar nomination.’ Talking about the film, Guneet Monga wrote, ‘Anuja is a beautiful and heart-touching film, and this journey would not have been possible without this team. “On the eve of the Oscar nominations being announced, some of the team came together to celebrate this incredible journey so far.”

Guneet Monga had earlier won the Oscar Award for The Elephant Whispers in 2023. Adam J. Anuja, directed by Graves, is the story of two sisters who struggle to find happiness and opportunity in a world bent on exploitation and exclusion. The film is jointly backed by Suchitra Mattai, Mindy Kaling, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Krishna Naik, Aaron Cope, Devanand Graves, Michael Graves, Kshitij Saini and Alexandra Blaney. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Anita Bhatia are the executive producers of the film. Recently, Netflix announced that Anuja will soon be available on the platform.
