New Delhi:
Bihar Police on Wednesday arrested a person from Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh for threatening state Labor Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Singh and demanding extortion money of Rs 30 lakh from him in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The police have also seized the mobile phone from which the threatening call was made to the minister.
According to a statement issued by Bihar Police, ‘After receiving a formal complaint from the minister on Tuesday, the police immediately formed a team. The team arrested the caller from Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh and recovered the mobile phone through which the call was made from his possession. The accused is being brought to Patna. However, the officials have not disclosed the name of the arrested accused.
It is noteworthy that Bihar Minister Santosh Kumar Singh had alleged on Tuesday that a person calling himself gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had called him and threatened to kill him. The minister lodged a police complaint in this regard. He also informed the Director General of Police of Bihar about this.
