The Diplomat is a political thriller film directed by Shivam Nayyar. At the same time, John Abraham is seen in the lead role. The film is based on real events, which depicts the themes of Indo-Pakistan relations, diplomacy and personal conflicts between diplomats. This film is getting positive response from audiences and critics. But recently, in a conversation with Pinkvilla, John revealed how the film was rejected by OTT platforms because he felt it was not very good.
The actor said, “The trust is lost from the studio. So when a studio sees a film, he goes on OTT because the studio wants to reduce the risk by sending it to the OTT channel. Some OTT channels refused The Diplomat because they did not like it. They did not like it. They rejected the film. They threw it out.”

John further said that no one had any hope from The Diplomat and the response of the film has proved those studios and OTT platforms which have rejected the film. He said, “The best thing about The Diplomat is that everyone’s expectations were zero. Therefore, from zero, when you don’t go two-three, but you go straight to 10, people say, ‘Oh, wow, it’s crazy’. People come to me and say to me, ‘Does this studio know that they have the best film in the last ten years?’ This is a win for me. “
Significantly, The Diplomat has been produced by John’s JA Entertainment by TCIs, Rakesh Dang of Sita Films, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Wardey, Rajesh Bahl of Vakao Films and Sameer Dixit of Fortoon Pictures and Jatish Verma. Talking about the collection of the film, The Diplomat, made in the budget of 20 crores, has earned a worldwide earning of 26.8 crores. Whereas the film has earned the figure in India in 20.40 crore 8 days.
