ICC Reveals Reason Behind PCB official’s absence: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who was surrounded by criticisms for not sending his representative on stage at the prize distribution ceremony after the Champion Trophy Trophy Final, lodged a protest before the International Cricket Council (ICC) for ignoring its representative during the event held on Sunday in Dubai. Telecom Asia Sport said in a report on Monday that senior PCB officials said that “the PCB protested in strict words to the ICC management as to why its representative in the stadium was not invited to the podium for the ceremony.” The answer has now come from the ICC on this issue.

According to Cricket Pakistan report, the ICC has responded to this. According to the report, the ICC spokesperson said that “PCB Management Committee Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was invited to attend the final ceremony, but he did not come.” On behalf of the ICC spokesperson, it has been said that “Mr. Naqvi was not available and did not go to Dubai for the final … ICC only invites the head of the host board to attend the award ceremony, such as the Chairman, Vice President, Chairman or CEO. Other board officers, even if they are present at the venue, they may not be part of the stage proceedings.”

The ICC directly clarified that this rule is not limited only to the Champions Trophy, but also applies to all previous events. While giving the trophy, no PCB official was on the stage, because the nominated representative of Pakistan was not present.
