‘Ground Zero’, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoscar, made a slow start at the box office on Friday (25 February). According to the trade website Caikanilk, the film with the lead role of Emraan Hashmi earned only Rs 1 crore in India. Under the banner of Excel Entertainment of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the Ground Zero recorded a total of 8.63 percent of the Occupancy on its first day. At the same time, Kesari collected 4.05 crores on this Friday.
It is one of the lowest opening for Emraan Hashmi in recent times. It seems that it is getting a tough competition from Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari 2’ which is continuously performing well at the box office. Ground Zero is the story of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who played an important role in the 2003 operation against Rana Tahir Nadeem, one of the most wanted terrorists in India, also known as Ghazi Baba. Emraan Hashmi is playing the role of Narendra, his wife Jaya Dubey as Sai Tamhankar and Adila in Zoya Hussain. Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh and Lalit Prabhakar are also one of the lead characters.
Ground Zero also created history by premieing red carpet in Srinagar in 38 years. Because no film had premiered here for a long time. This was an important event for the region, where the cinema halls were closed since 1989 due to unrest. This also surprised many people. The film made headlines with this, but the audience is not seen reaching the theater right now.
