Union Home Minister Amit Shah (Amit Shah) said on Thursday that Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) is the best in the public welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Amit Shah, while addressing a gathering after inaugurating a cancer hospital and a health building run by a trust on Dumas Road here, said that the Prime Minister has “done many historical works in only one lifetime”.

Shah said, “But if you ask me to tell the best scheme of all these schemes, then I will call Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Under this scheme, about 60 crore citizens are now eligible to get free treatment up to five lakh rupees. ”He said that a cancer hospital constructed by a trust at a cost of Rs 250 crore has been inaugurated here in which Ayushman Bharat Card holder Patients can get treatment.

Shah said, “The Modi government has taken several steps to improve the healthcare scenario in the country. India’s healthcare budget has increased from Rs 37,000 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 98,000 crore under the Modi government, which shows three times the increase in allocation. The Prime Minister has adopted a holistic view to improve health services in the country. ”
The number of medical colleges also increased
He underlined that in 2014 there were 387 medical colleges in which 51,000 MBBS doctors were prepared every year but now the number of medical colleges increased to 766, from which 1.15 lakh MBBS doctors are prepared. The Union Minister said that other initiatives include promoting AYUSH sector, providing clean drinking water and promoting sports to increase immunity among citizens.
