Ind vs Eng 2nd ODI: Will Virat Kohli play in second ODI? Indian coach updated on fitness

Virat Kohli Fitness Update: The second match of the three ODI series is to be played between India and England in Cuttack. The Indian team’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has given an update about whether Virat Kohli will play in this match to be held at Barabati Stadium. Let me tell you, Virat Kohli did not play in the first match of the series held in Nagpur. Virat Kohli suffered a right knee injury. Due to which he was out of ODI earlier.

Sitanshu Kotak told in a press conference before the second ODI that star batsman Virat Kohli has recovered from his right knee pain and is fit to play in the second ODI against England on Sunday. Kotak said, “Virat Kohli is fit to play. He has come for practice and is ready to play.”

However, he did not say that who will be excluded from the final playing XI among opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer who scored the previous match. Kotak said, “This is the decision of the captain (Rohit Sharma) and the coach (Gautam Gambhir). I cannot answer it.” On the poor form of captain Rohit Sharma, he said that this is just a ‘bad era’.

Virat Kohli will come in whose place?

When Virat Kohli was out of Nagpur ODI, Shreyas Iyer came to the team in his place. Shreyas Iyer himself accepted this. At the same time, he took full advantage of this McKay and played a strong innings of 59 runs in 36 balls and firmly presented the claim.

In such a situation, there is now every possibility that he will be replaced in the team in place of Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is not able to perform the expected performance in the first match. In such a situation, Gill can start the innings with Rohit.

If Kohli returns to the team by fit, then his form will be monitored because he is struggling to score runs for some time. After a poor performance in Australia’s era, Kohli also played a Ranji match for Delhi, but in this match too, he was able to score only six runs.

But Kohli has performed brilliantly in ODI cricket and he is only 94 runs away from completing 14000 runs in this format. If he achieves this feat, then he will become the third batsman in the world to reach this stage after Sachin Tendulkar (18,426) and Kumar Sangakkara (14,234).
