Let us tell you that Chahal has recently been in the news regarding his alleged separation from his wife Dhanashree Verma, and due to which he did not participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25.
Taking his point further, Akash said, “Yuzvendra Chahal is completely finished. His file has been closed. I don’t know why they did this, it is an interesting case. He last played in January 2023. It has been two years since he was out of the team. He has taken a lot of wickets and is still performing well. This is an indication of his not being selected in the team. The selectors are no longer thinking about him Are.”
Talking about Chahal’s ODI career, this leg spinner has taken 121 wickets in 72 ODI matches, but has not played for India in any format since August 2023. The wrist spinner did not participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25. Chopra said that not playing for two years means he was never a contender for the Champions Trophy 2025 squad. Since Chahal’s file has been closed for two years, there is no room for Yuzi here either. Because as soon as you suddenly choose them, it would be considered a backward step.”
India chose four spin-bowling options for the Champions Trophy in the form of Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar. Champions Trophy is going to start from 19th February.
