
Kuldeep Yadav Nets Practice Viral Video Ahead of Champions Trophy: Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has started practicing in the nets in preparation for his comeback into Team India ahead of the white-ball series against England starting from January 22 and the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. Taking to Instagram, Kuldeep shared a video of him bowling in the nets, in which he is seen completely “hanging” into his practice session. Kuldeep was not available for selection for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour of Australia held from November last year to January this year as he was admitted to the BCCI Center for long-term resolution of his chronic left groin pain after the end of the Test series against New Zealand. His last performance for India was the first Test of the New Zealand series, in which he took three wickets in October last year. When he returns, Kuldeep will have an important milestone of taking 300 international wickets. In 159 international matches, he has taken 297 wickets at an average of 22.50, with a best bowling performance of 6/25. He has taken five wickets eight times in international cricket.
Series against England will start from January 22
Kuldeep is not part of the team for the five-match T20 series against England starting from January 22. The five-match T20 series will start on January 22 in Kolkata. The second and third matches will be held on 25 and 28 January in Chennai and Rajkot respectively. The fourth match of the series will be played in Pune on 31 January. Mumbai will host the final match of the T20 series on 2 February.
The three-match ODI series will start from February 6.
The newest challenge before India is the ICC Champions Trophy, which will start from 19 February and run till 9 March. It will be hosted by Pakistan and UAE, in which India will play its matches in UAE under the hybrid model. There will be 15 50 over matches in this tournament of eight teams and these matches will be played in Pakistan and Dubai. The biggest match of the tournament will be played between two arch-rivals India and Pakistan on 23 February in Dubai.
India will start its campaign against Bangladesh on 20th February. India’s last league match will be against New Zealand on March 2. Group A of the tournament includes current Champions Trophy holders and hosts Pakistan along with India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, while Group B includes Cricket World Cup 2023 champions Australia along with Afghanistan, England and South Africa.
