Jaipur:
The four convicts have been sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2008 serial bomb blast case of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The court has issued a detailed decision of 600 pages regarding this.
After 8 serial bomb blasts held in Jaipur on 13 May 2008, the naunda bomb was found in Chandpol Bazaar. This bomb was defused 15 minutes before the blast, which saved the lives of many people.
The special court convicted Saifurrahman, Mohammad Saif, Mohammad Sarwar Azmi and Shahbaz Ahmed.
All four convicts were convicted under 4 of IPC, 2 of UAPA and 3 sections of the Explosives Act.
The court said that the biggest court is our mind, and is punished, meaning a crime has also happened.
Government lawyer Sagar Tiwari had demanded a punishment for keeping in jail throughout his life. He said that this is the worst crime, there should not be any kind of softness.
The defense counsel said that the accused have been in jail for 15 years, and have been acquitted in 8 cases.
The court dismissed these arguments and sentenced the maximum sentence. Except Shahbaz, the other three were hanged in the first serial blast case.
Although the High Court acquitted all three, the matter is now pending in the Supreme Court.
