Mumbai:
Adaani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) assistant company and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIL) is taking a strategic step to increase passenger facilities with a harmonious and well -organized experience. In a proposal placed before the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA), Mial has suggested a user development fee (UDF) for domestic passengers to start infrastructure and technological development schemes at Mumbai Airport and Rs 650 for domestic passengers and Rs 650 for international passengers.
The proposal of Mial is an attempt to meet this change and reduce the impact on passengers. Also, reduce airline landing and parking fee by about 35 percent, so that a balance can be made between increasing infrastructure and maintaining world -class airport operations. This deficiency is expected to have a positive impact on air fare from Mumbai, so that the airlines can manage costs more efficiently and maintain competitive ticket prices.
CSMIA has the current benefit (YPP) per passenger is Rs 285. The proposal given to the AERA aims to modify the YPP to about Rs 332, which reflects an 18% increase, which is in line with the consultation paper issued by the AERA on 10 March 2025.
MIAL will strengthen Mumbai’s position as a global aviation center
In the next five years, the construction of the infrastructure of the airport will be invested Rs 10,000 crore and will receive a total revenue of Rs 7,600 crore from the expected number of 229 million passengers, reflecting a balanced approach in revenue recovery. The new tariff structure proposes to move the revenue mix strategically, with an increase in the UDF as well as a reduction in landing and parking fee by 35 percent. This proposal is in line with the tariff structure of other major airports in India and will increase revenue stability. At the same time, the passenger’s experience will also improve, which will ensure that the CSMIA remains a competitive and attractive aviation center for the passengers.
The MIAL is committed to improving the long -term stability of one of the continuous passenger facilities, operational efficiency and one of the historic aviation centers in India. Major initiatives include domestic-to-domestic transfer facility, new taxiway jade for improving time and new taxiway for better operation of airports, starting e-gates to control the crowd on entry into the terminal, free inter-terminal coach transfer and fastened parking and many other passenger-focused progresses. The proposed change will speed up the program to complete its ambitious infrastructure, which will further change the airport and its facilities, so that they can be prepared for future air travel demand.
