There has been a new twist in the missing case of Indian student Sudikha Konanki, who went for a holiday in Dominican Republic. The student’s cloth has been found recovered on the beach. 20 -year -old Sudikha is a student of the University of Pittsburgh. Officials believe that Sudikha may have left his clothes on the chair on the beach before going into the sea.
Sudiksha was last seen around 4 pm on 6 March. After which five friends who came with him filed a report of his disappearance. In the surveillance footage, Sudiksha was seen going towards the beach with his friends. Later his friends returned to the hotel, but Sudikha stayed there with 22 -year -old Joshua Ribi. Joshua studies at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota.
Initially Dominican officials feared drowning, but Sudiksha’s father has urged investigators to investigate other possibilities, such as kidnapping,. The family also found it unusual that Sudiksha’s phone and wallet were left with her friends, because she always kept her phone with her.
The authorities have taken the help of drone and AI technology to speed up the investigation. Which is helping in the scanning of the sea. Apart from this, Interpol has issued a ‘Yellow notice’ for missing persons. The University of Pittsburgh said that they are working closely with the FBI, DEA, and Homeland Security in this investigation.
