Shoaib akhtar on waqar youngis: Pakistan’s veteran fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has talked about the bowler who considers the biggest icon of fast bowling. Akhtar has not considered Wasim Akram and Imran Khan as his icon. Rather, Akhtar, known as ‘Swing of Sultan’, has called Waqar Yunus his most favorite fast bowler. Akhtar has said that “there have been many bowlers in Pakistan cricket who have been icons, but for me, Waqar Bhai was my icon.”

Talking on the Pakistani YouTube channel MyCo Sports, former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar said, “Late 90s who were our fast bowlers. He was an amazing. Earcon was less. Our icon was less. Waqar bhai, Waqar Bhai used to bowl fast bowler, the one who bowls all day will be a better fast bowler.

Akhtar said, “Today’s bowlers have not played that, they have played T20. The bowlers are made for T20 only. Today’s bowlers live in T20 format. Apart from this, today’s bowlers have to travel more. Watching today, you can not bowl 100 overs. Wasim Bhai and Waqar Bhai used to do warm up.

Waqar took 373 wickets in his career (Waqar Younis – Cricket Player Pakistan) 87 Test, while in ODI, Waqar holds a record of 416 wickets by playing 262 matches. In its time, Waqar and Wasim were considered to be the most dangerous fast bowling pair in the world.
