NRI charged Rs 10,000 for wheelchair at station, Railways canceled license

Indian Railways provides various facilities to the passengers at the station, including a wheelchair facility. If a passenger is unable to walk then such person can use the facility of wheelchair. For this the passenger has to pay a charge. There is a charge list at every station. Well, at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi, a licensed porter extorted Rs 10,000 from an NRI. When this complaint was made to the Railways, the Railways took action and canceled the license.

What is the whole matter?

Immediately after the case of taking Rs 10,000 by a licensed porter of a railway at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station for transporting an NRI passenger in a wheelchair to the platform, the Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division, took immediate action and arrested the guilty licensed porter (porter). Strict action has been taken against.

Taking strict administrative and legal action, Delhi Division has taken back his badge. Apart from this, by intervening in the matter, 90% of the amount has been returned to the passenger.

No compromise on passenger safety

Railway administration considers passenger interest as paramount and will not tolerate such incidents. Railway administration maintains a policy of zero tolerance towards such incidents. Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said that Railways is committed to provide safe and convenient travel to the passengers.

Such incidents tarnish the image of the Railways and weaken the confidence of passengers. He assured that strict action will be taken against the guilty persons in such cases.
