A statement from the BCCI said that, “Lucknow Super Giants bowler Digvesh Singh has been fined on Tuesday, Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Ekna Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, 25 percent of the match fee and a demerit marks for violation of IPL code of conduct during their team’s match against Punjab Kings.
Talking about the match, Punjab Kings defeated Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets with the stormy half -century of Prabhasimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer after a good performance by the bowlers led by Arshdeep Singh.
Chasing the target of 172 runs of Super Giants, Punjab Kings won 69 runs in Prabhasimran’s 34 balls with three sixes and nine fours and captain Shreyas Iyer (52 runs, 30 balls, four sixes, three fours) and won 177 for two wickets in 16.2 overs thanks to his second wicket share.
Iyer made an unwavering partnership of 67 runs for the third wicket with Nihal Vadhera (43 not out, 25 balls, four sixes, three fours) and brought the team to the target. Prabhasimran has been awarded the Player of the Match title for his brilliant batting.
