ATS, Maharashtra Police and Mumbai (Crime Branch) across Maharashtra are taking action against Bangladeshis living illegally. Yesterday Ghatkopar police had arrested 13 illegal Bangladeshis. On Sunday, 7 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police.

A Bangladeshi has also been arrested near Charni Road station in Mumbai. This person was living in Mumbai since 1994. The name of this person is Mohammad Idrish Shaikh alias Joshimuddin Bisho Devan. During the investigation of these arrested Bangladeshis, the police got information about a rate card which has details of how much money a Bangladeshi has to spend to come to India. According to Crime Branch sources, the accused enter India from areas like Malda, 24 Parganas, Murshidabad, Dineshpur and Chapli Nawabadganj.

Sources claim that brokers have a rate chart to bring these Bangladeshis to India. There are different rates for illegal transportation through different routes.

According to sources, to enter India through the hilly route, one has to pay Rs 7-8 thousand to the brokers because the risk is less on these routes. Whereas if they have to take entry into India through water route then they have to pay 2-4 thousand rupees for this. The water route is the most difficult, hence the rate is also low.

Sources also claimed that if they want to come to India without risk, then they have to pay 12-15 thousand rupees to the brokers, in which they are brought to India through flat land.

Brokers also have a rate card for preparing Indian documents after coming to India from Bangladesh. The rate for making Aadhar card with the help of a broker is only Rs 2000. After making Aadhar card, these people can go to any corner of India. Money has to be paid even for a job. He also has a rate card.

According to police sources, during the interrogation of one of the accused, it has also come to light that the water path is very dangerous and one has to face dangers like crocodile, Bengal tiger etc. In many cases, illegal Bangladeshis who are entering India via water route are also attacked. The accused has told in his statement that when he came to India, he had given Rs 2,000 to the broker.
