Shubman Gill, Punjab vs Karnataka: An unwanted shameful record has been registered in the name of Team India’s newly elected ODI vice-captain Shubman Gill in Ranji Trophy. In fact, after flopping badly in Test cricket at the international level, Indian players have been asked to participate in domestic cricket. Where 25 year old Gill is leading Punjab. Under his captaincy, the Punjab team has been bundled out for just 55 runs against Karnataka, which is the second lowest score of Punjab in an innings of Ranji tournament in the last 46 years.
Before Karnataka, Punjab team had collapsed for only 42 runs against Haryana in the year 1978. After that now she is all out for 55 runs. Punjab’s third lowest score in domestic cricket is 59 runs. While batting against Mumbai in the year 2012, Punjab batsmen looked completely helpless in the field. The result was that the entire team could not even touch the figure of 60 runs.

A match of Group C of the ongoing Ranji Trophy season is being played from today (23 January 2025) in Bengaluru, Punjab and Karnataka. Where after losing the toss and batting first, the entire Punjab team collapsed for just 55 runs in the first innings. Only two batsmen could touch double figures for the team. In which apart from Ramandeep Singh (16), the name of Mayank Markande (12) is included.
Vasuki Kaushik took four wickets
Vasuki Kaushik was the most successful bowler from Karnataka against Punjab. Who took four wickets while conceding only 16 runs in 11 overs. Apart from them, Abhilash Shetty managed to get three wickets, Prasidh Krishna two and Yashovardhan Parantap managed to get one wicket.
