Tamim iqbal) Has been admitted to a hospital in Savar after a sharp pain in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League between Mohammadan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club. The left -handed opener complained of chest pain while on the field against Shinepukur Cricket Club and was taken to Sheikh Fazilunnasa Mujib Hospital for immediate treatment. A helicopter was first installed to take Tamim to the hospital from BKSP ground in Savar, but could not be taken from there. Instead, he was taken to Fazilununasa Hospital in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief doctor Dr. Debashish Chaudhary said, “He was initially investigated at the local hospital, where there was suspicion of mild heart problems. Attempts were made to take him to Dhaka, but on the way to the helipad, he had a sharp pain in his chest and had to be taken back. Later, the medical report confirmed that it was a big heart.” Local news outlet The Business Standard said that due to Tamim’s disease, the meeting of the BCB directors has also been postponed, which was to be held on Monday.
Many BCB officials including Akram Khan are going to meet Tamim. Physio Inamul Haq of Mohammadan’s team recalled the moment, when Tamim was feeling uncomfortable on the field. He said, “Everything seemed normal when we reached the ground in the morning. But after landing on the ground, he suddenly complained of chest pain. We immediately took action and took them straight to the hospital.
“I pray for Tamim Iqbal and request everyone to pray for his early recovery. Allah Tala give him the power and courage to be fully healthy as soon as possible.
