According to sources, the sale of petrol and CNG -run two -wheelers from August 15, 2026 in Delhi under the policy may stop. Also, from 15 August 2025, a new registration of petrol, diesel and CNG-run three-wheelers in Delhi will stop and it will be mandatory to convert CNG auto older than 10 years into electric. According to sources in the announcement of the EV 2.0 policy, after the implementation of the new EV 2.0 policy on April 15, if the name of a person is 2 petrol or diesel car, then the third car will be registered only. Apart from this, under the new EV 2.0 policy of Delhi Government, all vehicles of Delhi, NDMC and Jal Board will have to be fully electrically electricly.
How much discount will be given on electric vehicles
- In the first phase, 10 thousand women can get a subsidy of 36000 on buying electric two -wheelers.
- After the policy is implemented, a subsidy of 10000 to 45000 can be obtained on buying electric auto.
- A subsidy of up to 75000 can be found on electrical vehicle purchase.
- Electric car can get subsidy up to 150000. But the maximum price of the car is up to 20 lakhs.
- Delhiites can get subsidy ranging from 10000 to 30000 on two wheel Ev two wheelers.
Under the EV 2.0 policy, the number of EV charging stations and battery swapping centers in Delhi will be increased so that the facility of charging can be accessible. Currently, Delhi has a total of 1,919 electric charging stations and 2,452 charging points and 232 battery swapping centers. The policy proposes to install 13,200 public charging points in the capital, so that a charging station is available every 5 km radius.
Electric vehicle will get subsidy
Apart from this, after the new policy is implemented in Delhi, the initial 10,000 women will get a subsidy of up to a maximum of Rs 36,000 on purchasing electric two -wheelers and the rest of the Delhiites can get a subsidy of up to Rs 30,000 at a rate of Rs 10,000 per kW for purchasing EVs at the rate of Rs 10,000 per kWh. That is, where the government can give a subsidy of up to 36,000 for the first 10,000 women of Delhi on purchasing two -wheeler electric vehicles, then after men and 10,000 women, other women can also give a subsidy of Rs 30,000 on two -wheeler electric vehicle purchase by 2030.
Under the policy, if a person scraps his less than 12 years old petrol or diesel two-wheeler (scooter/bike), then the government will give him an additional Rs 10,000 in EV procurement. It has also been decided in the policy that by 2027, all the new vehicles registered in Delhi, 95 copies should be electric. Along with this, a target has been set to reach this number to 98 rupees by the year 2030. The EV 2.0 policy will remain in force in Delhi till 31 March 2030.
