In fact, former MLA Anant Singh narrowly escaped the firing that took place in Mokama area of Patna district on Wednesday. Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Avakash Kumar said that till now there is no news of any casualty in the firing. The SSP said that 12 to 15 bullets were fired between two groups in Nauranga village of Barh on the outskirts of Patna district. The case is being investigated.

Regarding the incident, Anant Singh told reporters that some people of Nauranga village came to him and alleged that Sonu-Monu had thrown them out of their houses and locked their houses. After this, in the evening he went to Nauranga village and got the locks opened by his supporters. After this he told his supporters to inform Sonu-Monu also that the lock has been opened and that they should not do this in future. Anant Singh stopped the car outside Sonu-Monu’s house and asked two of his supporters to call Sonu-Monu and bring them, but as soon as his supporters reached Sonu-Monu, they started firing. To save his supporters, more of his people went and opened fire. In this, a bullet got stuck in the neck of one of his supporters and he is undergoing treatment.

Sonu Monu is a real brother and is a resident of Jalalpur village of Mokama. Sonu-Monu entered the world of crime in the year 2009. Both of them started looting in the train. With this, Sonu-Monu’s court started being held in the village itself. In Sonu-Monu’s court, people troubled by government officials stand in queues since morning. The two brothers have such fear over the officers and personnel of Mokama block and zonal office that the problem gets solved as soon as they hear the voice on the phone. However, he continued committing crimes. It is said that more than a dozen cases are registered against them. They also have a brick kiln. It is also said that he had connections with the Mukhtar Ansari gang. It is also being claimed that in the initial days they continued committing crimes under the patronage of Anant Singh, but after his jailing, they started increasing their influence. However, Sonu-Monu still do not stand anywhere in comparison to Anant Singh. There are still very few people in his gang.
