Al Jazeera network has aired unseen footage of Yahya Sinwar. It was under the leadership of Sinwar that Hamas attacked Israel in the year 2023. Sinwar was killed during the Israeli attack in Gaza. This video of his has surfaced after three months. In the footage, Sinwar is seen directing military operations in the Rafah area of Gaza. The Palestinian leader is wearing a military jacket. He is seen holding a stick in his hand and covered with a blanket. There are ruins visible at the place where he is, which is presenting a clear picture of the war.
According to local media reports, the Hebrew word “North” was written on the wall of the building where Sinwar briefly stayed, indicating that the house was raided by Israeli forces before he arrived there.

In the second scene, Sinwar is seen with another man in a polo shirt and a map spread in front of them.
The network also reportedly played footage of the order that then-Hamas chief Sinwar had signed to launch the attack on October 7.
Who was Yahya Sinwar?
Sinwar, who had risen to the top in the ranks of Hamas, was killed during an Israeli raid on October 18 last year. A few hours before this attack, he was seen carrying his belongings into the Gaza tunnel.
Israel alleges that he was the mastermind of the October 7 attacks. This attack was the deadliest in Israel’s history. The attack sparked conflict in the Middle East and created a tense divide between the West and other pro-Palestinian countries.
In the footage released by Israel on October 18, Sinwar was seen in a weak state in his last moments. In his last attempt to retaliate, he threw something at the drone making the video. Later, Israel dropped leaflets with Sinwar’s picture and a message – “Hamas will no longer rule Gaza”.
Situation of conflict created by Hamas attack
A situation of conflict had arisen in the Middle East after October 7, 2023. On this date, Hamas operatives and their allies rampaged through Israeli cities across the Gaza border, killing at least 1,200 people and abducting 250 other civilians and soldiers. In response, Israel started air strikes on Gaza along with ground operations. Hamas claims that Israeli attacks have caused more than 47,000 deaths in the Gaza Strip.
The new footage of Yahya Sinwar has emerged at a time when Israel and Hamas have briefly stopped violence to exchange prisoners and hostages under a ceasefire agreement. Its objective is to bring peace in the Middle East and end the year-long conflict.
