Amrish Puri still rules the hearts of his fans with his voice and his excellent acting. Like other star kids, his children did not make a career in the film industry, but his grandson Vardhan Puri is following his path and making a career in films. At the age of five, Amrish Puri introduced his grandson Vardhan Puri to Pandit Satyajit Dubey. Then he did some small roles in films. Even though Vardhan is the grandson of a big actor like Amrish Puri, he still struggled a lot for roles in films.
In 2019, Vardhan Puri debuted with the film ‘Yeh Saali Aashiqui’ and very few people would know that he is the grandson of Amrish Puri. Unlike other Nepo kids, his name was never mentioned that he got films because of his grandfather. He says that I started my career from theatre. As long as my grandfather was alive, I was doing theatre. I learned acting from home. But my grandfather taught me that if you want to achieve something in life, then be on your own and work hard. In an interview, Vardhan had told that his grandfather loved discipline very much. They wanted me to stay away from the set as much as possible, because when I went to the set once or twice, I got such treatment as if I was a king of some place. Grandfather got scared seeing that the boy is very small, he would think that he is a special child. It is better for children to have as normal a life as possible.
Vardhan had understood his love for cinema at the age of 5. He started working on the sets since childhood. He was the junior-most assistant on the set. He also did jobs like serving tea and sweeping the floor and played small roles. In 2019, he played the lead role in director Vivek Agnihotri’s film Yeh Saali Aashiqui. His second film was The Last Show.
Vardhan’s dad i.e. Amrish Puri’s son Rajiv Puri has been in the Merchant Navy. In such a situation, he did not get any help in his career even from his father. Vardhan had signed a total of 3 films, but those films were postponed due to Corona. However, now he is waiting for a good role. Besides, he is also working on some stories written by himself.
