Mahakumbh 2025: On Wednesday morning, 30 people were killed and 60 other devotees were injured in a stampede near Sangam Nose in Mahakumbh on Wednesday morning. Avnish, a local guide of Prayagraj, said that Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati are the confluence of rivers on the nose of Sangam. The focus of the people who come here remains to take a bath on the nose of the confluence. It is believed that the droplets of nectar fell here at the time of sea churning and the gods reside here. People bathe here to get nectar. According to beliefs, taking a bath here on Mauni Amavasya gives the fruits of 100 Ashwamedha.
Local guide Avnish said, ‘Whose stream is sharp is the Ganges river. At the same time, the water that is stable is Yamuna, the Saraswati river is invisible here. Barricading has been done due to security reasons. Security arrangements have been made by the government. This was the accident. The water here awakens spiritual consciousness. Sadhu saints also want to take this bath. There is a residence of deities at the time of Mahakumbh. This Kumbh is incomplete without Naga sadhus.
