Bangladeshi illegal immigrant Shariful Islam Shahzad, accused of entering Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s house and attacking him with a knife, is a member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). The accused’s father Mohammad Ruhul Amin has made a big revelation regarding this case in a phone conversation with NewsDeskReport.
‘Fleeed from Bangladesh and came to India in 2024’
Amin told that his son had fled from Bangladesh and came to India in March 2024. He came to India to escape political persecution by the then ruling Awami League in Bangladesh. Let us tell you that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was removed from the post in August 2024 and at that time Khaleda Zia’s BNP was in opposition.
‘Many false cases registered in Bangladesh’
According to Amin, many false cases were registered against his son in Bangladesh, including a case of mobile theft. The situation had become so bad that Shahzad felt that he was not safe in Bangladesh and hence he started looking for a job in India.
Amin also said that his son was subjected to several tortures in Bangladesh and false cases were registered against him without any crime. He told that he and his two sons work for BNP and he himself has faced many false cases.
Amin claimed that the person seen in the CCTV camera installed in Saif Ali Khan’s house had been arrested. He is not their son. The identity of the person shown in the CCTV footage does not match that of his son.
Police sources had earlier said that Shahzad had come to India via Meghalaya and stayed in West Bengal for a few weeks before crossing the Dawki river and coming to Mumbai. Authorities say they have recovered Shahzad’s Bangladeshi government documents and believe he was now living in India under the name Bijoy Das.
