During that time, Chahal took the help of social media to learn something new. Here he watched some dance videos of Dhanashree. After which he also became obsessed with learning dance. He contacted Dhanashree for dance classes. Their love story also started from here.

In the initial phase, both the men behaved like friends, but as days passed, they behaved like friends. He came closer while talking. Dhanashree had also revealed this in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11’. He told, ‘When no match was taking place during the lockdown. All the cricketers were getting bored sitting at their homes. During that time, UG one day decided that he wanted to learn dance. This relationship that started with dance soon turned into love. Chahal himself had told in a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia that he was impressed by everything Dhanashree said. Chahal and Dhanashree had announced their engagement on August 8, 2020. After which his fans also became happy. After about four months of engagement, they got married on 22 December 2020. This marriage was conducted with traditional Indian customs as well as modern grandeur.
