A major accident has taken place in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh… On Tuesday, three laborers were buried under the debris due to the collapse of an under-construction well, efforts are being made to save them. The rescue operation has been going on for 12 hours, and at present all three workers are safe. NDRF team is also engaged in rescue work on the spot. A team of doctors and an ambulance are present at the spot. Every possible effort is being made to save the workers.
In Khunajhir Khurd village of Chhindwara, the debris of an old well had to be removed and repaired. The well caved in while removing debris. Some laborers working in the well came out. But, three others got buried under the debris, among the workers who are buried under the debris, one woman and two men. Their names are said to be Rashid, Wasid and Shahzadi.
As soon as information about the collapse of the well was received, the people of the village reached there in large numbers. The workers who came out safely during the debris collapse informed the police about the entire incident. These laborers are said to be residents of Garatganj area of Raisen district. From that it came to light that three laborers were buried under the debris.
On receiving information about the accident, relief and rescue teams along with senior police officers have reached the spot. JCB machines are being used to remove the debris. At present it is believed that all three are buried under the debris. Due to darkness last night, there is some hindrance in the relief and rescue work. The administration has made arrangements for lighting at the incident site, so that relief and rescue operations can continue. It has been told that a total of six laborers were engaged in the repair work of the well, but three laborers escaped. Those who were inside were buried. A large number of village people are present at the spot during relief and rescue operations.
