US President Donald Trump said that if there was no compromise on the nuclear program from the dialogue, the military action against Iran is “absolutely” possible. He said that Iran has “not much time” to reach the agreement on the nuclear program.
Asked whether military action is an option, Trump told the reporters, “If necessary, if necessary, if the army is required for this, we will keep the army. Obviously Israel will be very much involved in this, he will be a leader of it. He should become its leader. But no one leads us, we do what we want to do.”
Significantly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier this week that he supports Trump’s efforts to reach the agreement with Iran.
The Israeli leader said that he would welcome a diplomatic agreement on the lines of Libya’s agreement with the international community in 2003. Remember that under that agreement, Libya’s dictator Moammar Gaddafi left all his secret nuclear programs. But Iran has emphasized that its program sanctioned by the International Nuclear Energy Agency should continue.
On the agreement with Iran, Netanyahu has said, “I think it will be a good thing .. but whatever it is, we have to make sure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons.”
