Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis protested against the Indian Embassy on 23 April, Waqf Amendment Bill

Dhaka:
The Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis will organize a program to hand over a public march and memorandum in front of the Indian Embassy in Dhaka on 23 April to protest against the immediate cancellation of the Waqf Amendment Bill passed by the Indian Parliament and alleged murder of Muslims. The program was announced at a meeting of the Central Executive Council held at the party headquarters, Palton, Dhaka.

Addressing the meeting, the party’s rich Maulana Mamunul Haq alleged that India’s Hindutva BJP government has been targeting Muslims across the country for a long time. Extremist Hindu groups have been given open exemption, who are attacking the lives and property of Muslims. The lands and properties of Muslims, whether they are private or Waqf, are forcibly occupied and temples and other structures are being built there.

He said, “Now the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 is being conspired to legalize these illegal occupations. It is not only an attack on religious properties of the Muslim community, but also direct interference in their religious rights.”

Maulana Haq also said that there has been widespread Muslim protest against this bill in India, and Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis will lodge his protest against this injustice. He also appealed to the Muslim world to raise his voice unitedly against the atrocities on Muslims in India and government intervention in religious matters.

At the same time, he alleged that the Indian government and its biased media are being falsely propagated at the minorities in Bangladesh, while the reality is that the Bangladesh government is silent on the atrocities on Muslims in India, which is unfortunate.

He demanded that the Bangladesh government should express immediate concern over the anti -Muslim violence in India and should raise this subject firmly on international forums including the United Nations.
