Former captain and coach Moin Khan has asked Pakistan players not to treat Indian players more friendly on the field. India and Pakistan will face face to face in the ICC Champions Trophy match to be held in Dubai on 23 February. Moin Khan, a legendary player of his time, said that the players should respect the opposing team, but should not cross the professional boundaries.
Moin told actor Ushna Shah in a podcast, “When I watch the matches of Pakistan and India these days, I do not understand that as soon as Indian players come to the crease, our players examine their bat, They pat and have friendly conversations. “
Moin, who played several matches against India, said that he is not against having respect for opposition players but it is not right to be more friendly with him. He said, “Our senior players used to tell us not to complain while playing against India and there is no need to talk to them on the field. When you treat them friendly, they consider it as your weakness. ”
Moin said, “Nowadays while playing against India, the behavior of our players is beyond comprehension for me. Even outside the field, you should have some limits due to being a professional player.”
53 -year -old Moin Khan said that he used to respect the Indian players very much, but he never revealed it on the field. Moin, who was once a part of the Indian Cricket League (ICL), said that even then he had prevented Pakistani players from befriending Indian players more.
He said, “Our players do not understand that excessive friendship is considered weakness and it affects the performance.” Moin also said that not to win a single match against India in his career was one of his biggest regrets. Moin Khan, who plays 69 Tests and 219 ODIs, believes that India and Pakistan are strong contenders to win the Champions Trophy this time.
