Delhi: After murdering his wife, the accused wanted to cut her body into pieces, caught by police before committing another murder.

Delhi Police has revealed a sensational murder in Dabri area. A man murdered his wife and hid her body in the bed. The accused’s plan was to dismember his wife’s body six days after the murder and he was also planning to kill his wife’s friend. For this reason, the accused was coming from Amritsar to Delhi, but the police arrested him midway.

According to DCP Ankit Chauhan of Dwarka district, the body of 26-year-old Deepika Chauhan was found inside the bed in her house in Janakpuri on January 3, 2025. The mouth of the deceased was wrapped with white tape, so that the body could not decompose quickly. Deepika’s husband Dhanraj had hidden the body in the bed after her murder and had planned to cut the body into pieces so that it could be thrown at a secluded place. Deepika earlier worked in a spa.

The aim was to commit another murder

Investigation of the case also revealed that Dhanraj was unhappy with a friend of his wife Deepika and was also planning to murder her. On January 5, he was returning from Amritsar to Delhi, so that he could kill his wife’s friend also. However, before that the police caught the accused and foiled his second murder plan.

This is how the arrest took place

After the murder, Dhanraj had switched off his phone. However, he came to the notice of the police through UPI payment. The team of Anti Narcotics Cell, with technical surveillance and intelligence, chased the accused and arrested him while returning from Punjab to Delhi. The accused confessed to the murder during interrogation and told about his dreadful intentions.

Dhanraj was addicted to alcohol

The accused Dhanraj alias Lalu was a motorcycle driver by profession. He used to work for apps like Ola, Uber and Rapido. He was addicted to drinking alcohol and his wife Deepika used to run the household expenses. Dhanraj was never involved in any crime before.

Police engaged in investigation

The police have recovered three mobile phones including the mobile phone of the deceased from the accused. At present, further interrogation of the accused is going on and the police is investigating the matter. The Anti Narcotics Cell and police team of Dwarka district solved this case.
