Fisheries, stuck in the sea for 95 days, were alive after eating turtle and cockroach
This fisherman of Peru is 61 years old. He was trapped in the Pacific Ocean for 95 days. In these 95 days, he kept himself alive by eating turtles, birds and cockroaches. Eventually he has now been rescued and he has met his family.
According to the BBC World’s report, the name of this fisherman who has become an example of winning the battle of life is Maximo Napa Castro. On 7 December 2024, he left for a two -week fishing journey from the city of Markona on the southern Peru coast. But ten days later, a storm strayed his boat in the middle of the sea.
How could the beach sea live for 95 days?
According to the BBC report, Maximo survived by filling the rain water in his boat and eating whatever he got. On Friday, after meeting his brother in Pata near the border of Ecuador, he told how he had eaten cockroaches and birds before eating sea turtles. His last 15 days were spent without food.
After the rescue, he was taken to Pata for medical before he was taken to Peru’s capital Lima. Here, at George Chavez International Ayport, his daughter Iney Napa met her. The daughter welcomed her at home with a bottle of Peru’s National Drink Pisco.
