
The US Senate confirmed the appointment of Indian origin Professor Jai Bhattacharya of Stanford School of Medicine as Director of National Institute of Health (NIH) on Tuesday, 25 MarchAccording to the official website of the US Senate, Jai Bhattacharya won by 53-47 votes during the first session of roll call vote in the 119th Congress.
According to the statement made by US President Donald at the time of nomination, Jai Bhattacharya is a research association in the National Bureau of Economic Research as well as a Senior Fellow in Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, Stanford Freemain Spogley Institute and Huor Institute.
Jai Bhattacharya is the co-writer of the Great Barrington Declaration. This declaration was brought as an alternative to lockdown in October 2020.
The statement further stated that Jai Bhattacharya and newly appointed US Health and Human Services Secretary (US Health and Human Services SECRETARY) will work closely with Robert F. Kennedy Junior to restore the National Institute of Health on “Gold Standards of Medical Research”.
